dear journal,

yesterday i had the fabulous idea of going to the animal shelter. the idea popped into mind because i was watching andreaschoice videos on youtube and she has the cutest black pomeranian that she cuddles in her videos and i wanted something furry to cuddle too! so since i don’t have any pets at my apartment and i don’t know anyone with furry friends either, i figured we should go to the animal shelter! it’s like a library of animals! except you can’t take them home.

SF has a nice animal shelter where the animals get big rooms to stay in with lots of toys. they call the rooms “cat condos” haha. some of the condos even had TVs with a video of birds haha.

they had some cuuuute kittens there. we met this kitten named pretzel and we played with him. he has a crooked tail, and we purred loudly when we were in his room.

before we even left the place i was thinkin about how i should make regular visits to the animal shelter because it’s therapeutic to be surrounded by kittens if you’re ever feeling down. how can you not smile when there’s a cute kitten nuzzling up against you? and also, the animals enjoy having visitors, they crave it even! when the animals see us out their door, they come up to the door and try to get you to open it or try to interact with you. you can tell they really want to be adopted!

and then i was thinking how cool it would be to volunteer there. cuz it seems like the volunteer’s main duty is to accompany visitors into the room, and if there is no one you have to help then you can just sleep in one of the cats room (like i saw one volunteer doing)! it seems like the most fun volunteer job ever! so i applied to be a volunteer and hopefully i’ll hear back soon. everyone should volunteer at the animal shelter! or adopt an animal or five! it will make the world a better place

When someone walks past them and they are lying down but awake they will take a swipe at your foot with their paw. But not like to hurt you, to play I guess. But you’re not gonna notice that that they did it cuz they almost always miss. Haha

Omg I made a discovery! Meatloaf + hot dog bun + cheese + whatever = best impromptu burger ever! It was sooooo good but bad at the same time. It tastes like white castle burgers! Cuz meatloaf has onions in it. I see more of this in my future haha
